In economic news, U.S. weekly jobless claims jumped to 196,000, and continuing claims rose to 1.688 million. Tech layoffs continued, with GitLab, GitHub, and Yahoo laying off 7%, 10%, and 20% of their respective workforces. Mortgage refinancing applications rose 18% WoW on the back of falling interest rates but are still down 75% YoY. 🧑‍💼
